Role Overview

As a Tax Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing individual tax returns to ensure they are ready for Tax Agent review and lodgment
• Ensuring all communication and necessary supporting documents are received from clients
• Adhering to ATO and Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) compliance requirements
• Maintaining accuracy while working towards the best outcomes for clients
• Responding to internal and client communications within 24 hours

About You

You will bring:

• At least 2 years’ experience preparing and reviewing individual tax returns
• A degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A reliable computer and high-speed internet connection
• Availability throughout July, particularly during the first two weeks

This is a short-term contract for the 2026 tax season, paid on a piece-rate basis per tax return completed. Under section 536AA of the Fair Work Act, pieceworkers are also entitled to a periodic rate of pay at the national minimum wage.

Work volumes vary throughout the tax season, with the busiest periods occurring during peak client demand. Before the season begins, you’ll complete self-paced online training in June, with tax return reviews commencing from 1 July 2026.

Where You’ll Work

This role is a work from home role, open to candidates anywhere in Australia. To join our Reviewer team, you’ll need to be based in Australia and able to work from your home for the full duration of your engagement with Etax, including training in late June.
