Join our team of Policy Researchers at LMI Policy Comparison, providing up-to-date comparisons of general insurance policies to insurance professionals.

Your role will be to read and understand general insurance policy wordings, create summaries of the covers ready for publishing in our online comparison tool. Most of your work will be via online methods. Monthly staff meetings (rotate between Teams and in person at our Brisbane office). External client interaction is minimal.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who likes to work autonomously, understands how to read policy wordings, has an accurate eye for detail and takes pride in the insurance industry.

Our ideal candidate has worked in the insurance industry for minimum of 2 years with a knowledge of Commercial and Domestic Product Lines.

Industry Legislation experience and knowledge beneficial.

Ideally you will currently or have recently worked as a broker / underwriter or claims professional and looking for a home-based position with less client interaction. 

You will receive training and support, and with your previous knowledge and can-do attitude, you will get up to speed and contribute to the team quickly.

You will enjoy working remotely plus meeting and collaborating with the team in person at least bimonthly.

As our Policy Researcher, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting detailed research and analysis of Commercial and Domestic insurance product lines, including policy wordings across personal lines (home & contents, landlord) and commercial/SME and professional lines (e.g. management liability, professional indemnity, directors & officers). Accurately interpreting and summarising covers, benefits, conditions, exclusions, and market variations, delivering clear, concise insights within required timeframes to support business decision-making.
• Identify any wording concerns and provide feedback. 
• Accurately following our standards and procedures.

You will possess:

• The ability to communicate well, both written and verbally (essentially).
• Excellent attention to detail skills and enjoys working within standards and procedures.
• Quick learning skills.
• The ability to work autonomously, manage your own time and meet deadlines.
• Flexible, adaptable, positive personality with a good sense of humour.
• The ability to work well within a small team of experienced professionals.

Knowledge Experience & Skills:

• At least 2 years current, or recent previous experience working in the general insurance industry.
• Experience in Commercial and Domestic Product Lines.
• Experience in reading and understanding policy wordings. 
• Industry Legislation experience and knowledge beneficial.
• Good MS excel skills, basic knowledge of remaining MS office software. 

Hourly rate is negotiable, dependent upon the experience and skills of the successful candidate. 

You must also have the right to live and work in Australia. 

This is a contract work from home position (approximately 20 hours per week), with potential to grow. You will be required to have your own ABN number.
