About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Insurance Broker Assistant who wants more than just their next role — someone looking to grow, develop, and build a meaningful career in insurance broking.

In this role, you’ll work side‑by‑side with an experienced Client Manager/Broker, supporting a well‑established portfolio with a wide variety of client and policy types, including domestic risks, farm, SME, and Financial Lines. You’ll be mentored directly by the broker you work with and gain exposure to all aspects of broking, while being supported by a collaborative team and a dedicated internal Claims Team.

This role can be based in our Toowoomba branch or offered as a work from home position (for the right candidate and experience level).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working closely with a Broker to deliver exceptional service to clients
  • Gathering client information and assessing insurance needs
  • Responding to client enquiries via phone and email
  • Processing new business, renewals, endorsements, and remarketing
  • Preparing, reviewing, and issuing policy documentation
  • Assisting with claims when required
  • Building strong relationships with clients, insurers, and internal teams
  • Supporting the ongoing management and growth of the client portfolio

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an insurance brokerage (not just industry time in industry - the requirement for this role is insurance brokerage experience)
  • Tier 2 Insurance Broking qualification (Tier 1 highly advantageous)
  • Previous experience supporting a Broker or Client Manager OR experience of being a Broker / Client Manager yourself
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Clear, confident, and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
  • A proactive mindset, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with Winbeat, SCTP, and Office Tech (highly regarded)
