Access Adventure Club is on a mission to connect young people with nature, to improve the wellbeing of our next generation! We predominantly achieve this through delivering our Accessible Adventures programs for young people with disabilities - through our newest brand, Access Adventure Club!

We have been in operation for 10 years and are leaders in a uniquely positioned niche that falls between outdoor education, disability support and tourism in Australia. We currently have a team of 15 full time staff and approximately 40 casual staff.

Our 6 core values (that we live and breath):

  1. We resonate good vibes
  2. We are hungry to contribute the company's purpose
  3. We are highly organised and disciplined
  4. We are adaptable to change
  5. We are optimists, with can-do attitudes
  6. We see challenge as an opportunity for personal growth

We are a for-purpose company that takes pride in our engaging work culture and positive working environment. We emphasise personal growth and development in our staff to complement our fast-growing business.

Role Description:

This is a remote, work from home (WFH) role, that can be based anywhere in Australia (we currently have staff in most states across Australia). This role is 15 hours per week, and can be done within school hours, from home.

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for overseeing the finance function in our growing company. You will have a fulltime staff member that reports to you directly, and they are responsible for execution of the activities such as bank reconciliations, invoicing, and general bookkeeping. In this role, you will manage the bookkeeper, as well as provide higher level financial reporting to the leadership team.

The two core accountabilities for the role include making sure your department processes invoices on time and accurately, and collects any outstanding payments on time. Additionally, the role will take on responsibilities to identify possible areas for cost saving, tracking company card usage, and liaising with other departmental leaders.

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Have experience working in the NDIS and a good understanding of billing line items.
  • Come from an accounting background.
  • Have a compelling reason to be specifically seeking work on a part time basis.
  • Be incredibly organised and detail oriented.
  • Be data driven, and have the ability to find data-based insights.
  • A creative, problem solving mindset that is adaptable to change.
  • A great communicator (as this role will be expected to help guide decision making within the leadership team).
  • Have core values that are aligned with ours.

Key Perks

  • Make a difference in the lives of young people at scale, by inspiring them to fall in love with nature via our unique, nature-based programs (many families fear using their funding incorrectly and being left with a big bill that NDIS won't pay - we flip the script and guarantee that our families won't pay a thing out of pocket if the NDIS don't pay. As our Finance Manager, you get to make this a reality for many families!)
  • Be part of an incredible company culture that offers team meditation sessions each Mon and Friday and a company culture that cares about wellbeing, staff recognition and work life balance. Almost our entire team work remote - and we have processes in place to make sure all staff that work from home equally enjoy our culture-perks and don't miss out on activities.
  • Influence the direction of our company by providing meaningful input, ultimately allowing our team to connect more young people with nature!
  • Work From Home (during school hours, if beneficial) - save on fuel costs and travel time - spend less time travelling, more time with the ones that matter to you most!
  • Be part of an exciting journey as we forecast ~70% growth next financial year.

The role is a part-time contract (approximately 15 hours per week, and can be spread over 4 or 5 days per week as negotiated). For the right candidate we can accommodate more hours if requested and flexibility.

Renumeration:

The role has a full time equivalent (FTE) salary range between $70k - 75K per year . At 15 hours per week (0.4 FTE) the successful candidate can expect to receive between $27.7k - $29.6K per year + 12% superannuation. The main value this role offers is it's part time, consistent yet flexible work from home schedule - perfect for those who want a bit of work consistently, but perhaps have other life priorities that take preference over a fulltime workload.
