The Country Manager, Australia is responsible for establishing and leading Pharming's Australian affiliate while driving the successful launch and long-term growth of the company's rare disease portfolio. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring strong commercial performance, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and improved patient access. The Country Manager works closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to build sustainable business growth and strengthen Pharming's presence in the Australian healthcare market.

Leadership & General Management

  • Establish and lead the Australian affiliate.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing cross-functional team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, compliance, and patient focus.
  • Drive organizational readiness for product launches and future expansion.

Launch & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead launch planning and execution across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations.
  • Align local activities with regional and global business objectives.
  • Monitor launch performance through KPIs and implement improvements where required.

Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive business growth.
  • Increase patient identification, treatment access, and market presence.
  • Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, and key opinion leaders.

Market Access & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with government agencies, payers, patient organizations, and healthcare stakeholders.
  • Support market access initiatives and disease awareness programs.
  • Strengthen partnerships that improve patient access to innovative therapies.

Financial & Compliance Management

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain effective governance, operational excellence, and risk management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or rare diseases.
  • Proven experience launching specialty or rare disease products.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian healthcare system.
